Recently topics are quality, quality AND QUALITY. So what is quality about? And what got speed involved? This is the logic I came out:
*Fast speed = bad quality BUT does it mean
^slow speed = good quality?
I do agree that more complex work (in this case work refers to edm) requires more time. The question again: How long is enough? If given 1 day, do you compromise that its error free? We should be constantly improving everyday - if 6 months ago, you took 1 day to produce edm, 6 months later, you are still taking 1 day, then something is very wrong. Are you being efficient and productive?
Have you play Bejeweled (in Facebook) ?
Work is just like playing Bejeweled, you need to focus and concentrate on the game. At the same time, you are competing against 1 minute time frame. Its not purely clearing 3 similar gems, but rather, how can you create more gems and achieving high score. Can you relate this with work? (Staying focus and create more edms and achieving 0% errors?)
To standardise, I have came out with a Citi’s edm guideline. Lets use a standard font size/type on the contents+footer area. Lets hope with all these in place, defect rates will decrease.

Footnote:
*Fast speed = turnover within 2-3 hours.
bad quality = at least 1-2 mistakes
^slow speed = at least 1 day
good quality = no mistakes
