The sophistication of Data Visualization

Data visualization can be seen more and more these days on both web interfaces, applications and even print design. I appreciate how these designers take the extra effort to translate regular boring text content into something visually appealing and interesting. However, if data visualization is not designed or implemented properly, it will look horribly wrong like a train wreck. Say goodbye to unsightly tables… I can imagine such UI be used on a car dashboard in the near future. It would be awesome if you can flip through your music files in your car or even tune your air con level on a flat screen panel. By then we can say goodbye to physical buttons.
